Heidelberg City Hall now has a Corona Prophylaxis Station. The Corona Protection Point was officially inaugurated today in the City Hall foyer in the presence of the press.

Corona prophylaxis station: gesture-controlled screen and disinfectant dispenser
Hygiene measure to take part in: Since Monday, 11 May 2020, the so-called "Corona Protection Point", a corona prophylaxis station of the Heidelberg company "AMERIA AG", has been available in the foyer of Heidelberg City Hall. This is a screen with a virtual moderation and the corresponding disinfectant dispenser. A virtual doctor interactively explains how correct hand disinfection works, demonstrates it and invites people to participate.
The aim is to protect visitors to the town hall and employees from infection. This is because the viruses are only killed if the disinfectant is carefully rubbed into the hands for 45 seconds, including between the fingers. The device can be used by anyone who has an appointment at the town hall or the citizens' office.
Control through simple gestures in the air
The screen at the entrance to the town hall can be controlled by simple gestures in the air. This allows interaction without risk of infection. Further short explanatory videos convey general protective measures on the coronavirus. The screen also provides background information, for example on the survival time of the virus on surfaces. Lord Mayor Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner and Albrecht Metter, founder and CEO of Ameria AG, presented the new device at City Hall on Wednesday, 13 May 2020. "The new, touch-free and thus particularly hygienic info terminal is ideal for giving people tips and information for everyday life with the coronavirus. In this way, we can teach citizens the correct application of the necessary hygiene measures," said Prof. Dr. Würzner and affirmed: "The station is one of the building blocks with which we can contribute to the containment of the pandemic."
Albrecht Metter explained: "With the gesture-controlled Corona Protection Point, we want to enable authorities, stores and schools to quickly and safely transition out of the lockdown. The full-service package offers interactive information transfer and hygiene measures to participate in." Mayor Wolfgang Erichson attended the appointment.
