This marks the next phase of collaboration between the two companies, demonstrating another practical application of interactive 3D signage in a professional exhibition environment.
The deployment at IBC 2026 continues the collaboration between the two companies and expands it to the Sony XYN™ division. For the on-site product presentation, Sony is using a new interactive application based on AMERIA’s STARKIT™ Template App. The new app visualizes product innovations as high-resolution 3D models. These are based on scans in PLY format created with Sony’s proprietary capture software. Visitors can view the digital exhibits from all angles and interact with them touch-free in virtual space, allowing them to rotate or zoom in on the objects. To support the physical booth presence, the application features an integrated wayfinder: after exploring virtually, a clear floor plan on the display shows exactly where the physical exhibit is located on the trade show booth.
The technological foundation of the cooperation is the STARKIT SRD system. This combines Sony’s Spatial Reality Display (SRD) and the STARKIT™ solution developed by AMERIA into an integrated plug-and-play unit. Integrated sensors track hand gestures in real time and translate them into control commands with virtually zero latency. Interaction with the virtual 3D objects is fully gesture-controlled, requiring no additional devices such as 3D glasses or touchscreens. An accompanying content management system also allows for the uncomplicated creation of new content.
The application at the Sony booth offers a resource-saving alternative to physical product samples, as configurations and device details can be presented purely virtually yet spatially. This also aligns with Sony’s environmental plan “Road to Zero”, which aims to achieve a zero environmental footprint.
The appearance at IBC follows the successful market launch of the joint system solution in 2026. Following the European launch at ISE in Barcelona in January, the US introduction took place at InfoComm in Las Vegas in June. The system is designed for a variety of industries, including retail, industrial applications, healthcare, architecture, as well as trade shows and exhibitions.
